6 Amazing Father’s Day Outings in Denver!

Father’s Day is upon us and I know we want to shower the special dads and grandads in our lives with some extra love and attention.  If you are having some trouble with your creative juices here are my top six picks for ways to celebrate that special guy in your life!

  1. For the Outdoor Dad  plan to take dad camping!  What a fun way to celebrate family!  Grab a tent, your camping gear and get away from the City and the heat for the weekend.  What could be more relaxing than kicking back under the stars, eating S’mores and turning off the electronics?  If your Dad is an outdoor sort and you are looking for some quality time, this might be the perfect Father’s Day event.  Throw in a great hike to complete the outdoor adventure.

  2. Sports Loving Dads  will enjoy an outing to see the Colorado Outlaws play the Florida Launch.  La Crosse is fast paced fun and going to see the Outlaws is an affordable gig.  Family four packs start at just $60 with $5 from each purchase going to Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Colorado.  See the Outlaws play on Saturday Night June 16th at 7:30 pm at Sports Authority Stadium at Mile High. www.denveroutlaws.com

  3. For the car lover in your family, take time out on Sunday, June 17th and head to the 14th Annual Apex Father’s Day Car Show.  This show is free to spectators and will feature over 200 street rods, custom cars and antiques. If you want to get some exercise in that day there are several races in conjunction with the car show!  Everything gets started at 9 am at the Apex Center in Arvada. 13150 West 72nd Ave. Arvada, Colorado. https://foundation.apexprd.org/fundraisers/fathers-day-car-show/

  4. For the Foodie Dad, why not attend the inaugural Denver BBQ festival?  Hosted at Sports Authority Mile High Stadium there will be amazing BBQ demonstrations by Legends of the Pit.  There will also be beer and bands. If that isn't enough, try your hand at some giant Board Games, Ping Pong, Wild trike rides or interactive games with the Broncos.  Admission is free and this looks like an incredible new Denver festival just in time to celebrate dad! www.denverbbqfest.com

  5. Does your dad love to sample Colorado’s craft brews?  This weekend is the Vail Beer Classic with four days of events and over 100 different craft beers to sample.  Events start on June 14th and continue through the 17th. A $55 dollar ticket will get you into the main event where you can sample beer to your heart’s delight in the scenic Colorado Rocky Mountains. Check out their website for a full schedule of events. www.vailcraftbeerclassic.com

  6. This weekend is also the time of the Greek Festival for the Culture Loving Dad.  This is Denver’s largest cultural festival and this year marks its 52nd year.  The festival is well know for it’s amazing homemade Greek food and pastries. Throw in some great  Greek music, dance and shopping and you will love this immersion into Greek culture. Festivities start June 16th.  The party is located at 4610 East Alameda Avenue in Denver. Admission is only $3. www.thegreekfestival.com

However you choose to celebrate and whatever you family looks like we want to take a moment to wish you a very Happy Father’s Day!
